Sustainability

At Edita, we believe sustainable practices are essential to creating long-term value. We run our business to raise efficiency, lift the communities around us, protect the environment, and uphold human rights and ethical conduct, all at once. In 2021 we set a comprehensive sustainability strategy, and we have been building on it every year since.

Hani Berzi, Group Chairman & CEO

01

Environmental impact

Reducing our footprint where it counts: energy, water and waste. Recent moves include a rooftop solar PV system of roughly 390 kWp across our Sheikh Zayed headquarters, renewable power and centralised chilling plans, improved wastewater treatment, and process changes that cut real losses rather than symptoms.

02

Responsible operations

For our people: safety, training and employee affairs. For our consumers: quality and food safety, research and innovation, and ethical marketing — quality is non-negotiable and independently certified. And a digital transformation of paperless shop floors and digitised inspections that cut errors while reducing resource use.

03

A greener supply chain

Through Edita for Trade & Distribution, we have partnered with Shift EV to bring electric trucks into our nationwide delivery fleet, lowering the carbon footprint of getting our products to shelf.

04

Edita Foundation

Our impact reaches beyond the factory. The Foundation supports health, education and social welfare in underserved communities, working with NGOs and local partners.

05

Good governance

A clear governance structure, an experienced board and committees, active compliance, internal auditing, and risk and business-continuity management underpin everything above.

Frameworks

Edita is a signatory to the UN Global Compact and aligns its strategy and reporting to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Our work also supports Egypt's Vision 2030 agenda.
